3 Super Juices To Try

These 3 super juices will rock your world, especially in the cold and dry winter months!

1. Celery juice! This has been so popular lately, and for good reason! The minerals and salts found in celery juice are great for hydration. Drink this one each morning on an empty stomach for max absorption.

2. Aloe Vera juice. You can buy at the store or make at home in your juicer. Either way, aloe is healing for the gut and great for dry skin this time of year.

3. Beet juice. Stop cringing!! It’s not so bad. Beets are not only in season now but loaded with antioxidants for harsh winter. Not to mention, all that gorgeous color gives you a great glow from the inside out (no tanning bed necessary!).

Don't waste the skill of your doctor...

I just found this quote and I am so obsessed with it!!!

Such a great reminder...

It doesn't matter how good your doctor or how good the meds you are on...

Nothing will work to improve your health if you are not eating healthy!!!

Even with the incredible advances in modern medicine and science, our bodies still need good nutrition from food.

Cooking at home (there are many ways to learn!), hiring a meal delivery service (holla, St Louis!), or making a daily smoothie (tons of recipes on this blog) can do so much for your health.

If you have questions on how to feed your body, please comment here!

Why you suck at cooking

I'm not kidding, you guys!

There is so much joy to be had in cooking a meal at home.

It is a creative outlet, it brings the family together, it gives you a bragging point (why not?).

If you "don't know how" (I hear that all the time!), it is not rocket science, and the only reason you're not good at it is because you never practice! So, get to practicing....

The truth is, if you're a terrible cook it's because you never cook. Ohhhh, the irony.

Have you ever seen that show "Worst Cooks in America"? It is hilarious; a bunch of people who are totally clueless about cooking compete against each other in cooking competitions. They're all so bad that it makes for quite entertaining TV.

But by the end of the season, the final few contestants who have been practicing cooking for some time, are actually good cooks. These people, who were chosen for this show based on how bad they are, have been transformed into mini chefs due to trial and error and practice.

That, my friend, is all it...

Food for thought

If you're not cooking at home, how much time are you spending running around trying to figure out what your next meal will be?

In my first job as a nutrition educator, I realized that while most of us don't find the time to cook, we don't realize how much time we are wasting trying to figure out what we are going to eat next. Whether we are sitting at our desk toiling, spending our lunch hour in the car looking, strolling up and down the grocery aisles searching for something to have for dinner. It's a problem! We just tend to think this is much more efficient way of doing things than setting aside a few hours to meal prep for the week, or going online to order some healthy delivery meals!

Today, I challenge you to take a look at how much time is spent sourcing your next meal.

This doesn't have to take a long time, just take note of it as it happens. At the end of the day, or week, tally it up. Was it minutes, hours?

I would be willing to bet it was much more significant than...
